From gentle beach walks to full-day boat tours, the range of things to do in Fundy is huge. Pick two or three per day — the tide will dictate the rest.
Hiking
Fundy Footpath, Fundy National Park's Dickson Falls loop, and the Cape Split trail are three of Atlantic Canada's most rewarding day hikes.
Kayaking
Paddle at high tide around the Hopewell Rocks flowerpots or launch from Advocate Harbour. Guided tours are strongly recommended for first-timers.
Beach Walks
Long low-tide beaches at St. Martins, Five Islands, and along the Fundy shore are safe, family-friendly, and rich in shells and driftwood.
Fossil Hunting
Guided fossil walks at Joggins let you find 300-million-year-old plant and animal impressions right on the beach. Take pictures — collection isn't permitted.
Photography
Sunrise at Peggy's Cove-style lighthouses, sunset over the Minas Basin, blue-hour long exposures of the tidal bore. Bring a tripod.
Camping
Fundy National Park, Cape Chignecto, and Five Islands all offer serviced and backcountry sites. Reserve months ahead for summer weekends.
Boat Tours
Zodiac tours from St. Martins bring you into sea caves that can only be reached by water at higher tides.
Tide Exploring
Guided low-tide walks at Hopewell Rocks and Burntcoat Head are the safest way to spend time on the ocean floor.
Scenic Drives
The Fundy Coastal Drive (NB) and the Glooscap Trail (NS) trace the bay for hours of coastal viewpoints and small-town stops.
Local Museums
The Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro and the Joggins Fossil Centre are two of the best small science museums in Atlantic Canada.
Visitor Centres
Fundy National Park and the Hopewell Rocks Interpretive Centre both offer maps, tide charts, and short intro films — good first stops.
